years of golf course designs throughout the world Denis Griffiths and
Associates has firmly established a reputation for solid, challenging
and enjoyable courses. Denis Griffiths holds a degree in Landscape
Architecture from Iowa State Univeristy and is former President of the
American Society of Golf Course Architects. He has also been active in
developing environmentally responsible design priciples while
advocating affordable and accessible golf.
Minimalistic changes to the existing terrain and careful integration of course design with the surroundings is essential to Griffiths' philosophy. Course designs must be enjoyable, memorable, and resilient with a touch of the uncertain. Griffiths' designs in the United States include award winning facilities in Calilfornia, Colorado, Ohio, and Tennessee. The courses at Chateau Elan, Brasstown Valley , St. Marlo, Chestatee, Crystal Lake and the Georgia Club are the cornerstone of DGA accomplisments. Around dthe world the firm has completed projects in England, Spain, South Africa, Philippines, Japan, Thailand and Scotland. With the completion of the 36 hole Fairmont at St. Andrews Course, Denis Griffiths has the distinction of the only American golf couse architect to complete course designs in St. Andrews Scotland, the birthplace of golf.
